2012 Central Regional Conference AAC
Events
The 2012 ACF Central Regional Conference in Detroit was a great
success! Central Regional Vice President Kyle Richardson, CEC, CCE, CHE,
AAC, and the ACF Michigan Chefs de Cuisine did a fabulous job organizing
and hosting the event at the luxurious MotorCity Casino and Hotel.
Camaraderie was great, the food magnificent, and the educational
offerings were phenomenal.
Fellow chef Jacques Brevery, Ph.D., CEC, AAC, did an outstanding job
presenting the AAC demo, The Art of Pickling. Nothing but positive
comments from the members! Thank you, Chef Brevery, for coming forward
and living our AAC mission statement.
A warm and heartfeld “thank you” to Executive Chef Kevin
Brennan, CEC, AAC, and his staff at the prestigious Detroit Athletic
Club for hosting an extraordinary American Academy of Chefs dinner. It
was an unforgettable night of exceptional Gastronomique fare that was
enjoyed by over one hundred guests in attendance.
The AAC is proud to once again support our culinary teams with grants
to assist with travel expenses to the regional conferences. This
year’s Central teams receiving the grant of $750 went to ACF Chefs
de Cuisine Association of St. Louis, coach Dan Holtgrave, CEC, and ACF
Greater Kansas City Chefs Association/Johnson County Community College,
coach Felix Sturmer. In addition, the AAC will also award the regional
champions, ACF Chefs de Cuisine Association of St. Louis, a $1,000 grant
for travel expenses to national convention.
